Album Notes

In the style of Adidam, “Violinistik” is a unique album that fuses hip-hop with classical, bossa nova, Indian, and jazz, all with the violin as the foundation. Calling on the help of his friends, Adidam assembled an all-star cast of musicians including members of the holy hip-hop community and noteworthy jazz, gospel, and classical musicians.

Adidam, which stands for All Day I Dream About Music, is a violinist/producer/performer whose love and knowledge of different forms of music has given him a unique style and sound. He holds degrees in violin performance from the University of Michigan School of Music and the Peabody Conservatory. Tim Smith, music critic of the Baltimore Sun, called his first album "distinctive" with "tightly rhymed lyrics," and a VH1 entertainment journalist called his compositions "extremely original and magnificently arranged and played." In a review for GospelFlava.com Gerard Bonner wrote, "Many have attempted to blend classical and hip-hop. Dare we say that few can do it with the authenticity of Adidam."

Adidam's got BEATS!
author: JM Muller
Violinistik picks up after Adidam's first album, and definitely ups the level of intensity, creativity, and also meaningfulness. I have to hand it to this talented artist- there's nothing like this in hip-hop out there. All the original tracks are great, and the covers bring fresh new interpretations to some old favorites. Be on the lookout- Adidam is just at the beginning of an awesome career!
