Album Notes

Shane Adkins' new CD "Traditional" is a collection of a few of Shane's favorite thumbpicking tunes such as Nine Pound Hammer and Red Wing. Also included are three songs that Shane played to win the International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship in Winfield, KS. Of course he couldn't complete a new cd without including some of those much requested original songs like Monkey Toed Gal, Walls of Jericho, Close to You, etc.

As with his other CDs, Shane has made "TRADITIONAL" interesting for all. There are instrumentals as well as vocals, funny songs as well as a haunting song, traditional favorites, and one or two songs to pull on your heart strings.

We hope you enjoy listening to the samples. Shane created this CD with you in mind.

I met Shane at a Huss & Dalton Guitars workshop in Staunton, VA on 11/22/08, and he blew me away!  He is an amazing talent that deserves much wider exposure than he is currently getting.  I bought all three of his albums, and I'm anxiously awaiting his upcoming release.  We hope to have him perform here in Charlottesville, VA when the new album arrives.  If this guy ever comes close to where you live, RUN, DO NOT WALK, to see him!

Great CD.  If you are a guitar player you will especially love this CD.  Shane can flat out pick (actually he uses a thumb pick!).  Just great stuff on this CD.  He's a worldclass player.  I have his "A Gospel Harvest" CD, too.  It's great, also.

I grew up listening to Chet, Doc, and Merle play. Chet became my favorite for years with his thumb picking. Now I have a new hero in Shane. He has truely kept the "Tradition" of thumbstyle. I can't wait till his other CD arrives.
