Album Notes

I work with music in a way which mixes my classical training with pop/rock culture creating a vibrant and emotional music. My appeal is focused on a generation that is tired of listening to mainstream and is looking for a more sophisticated and fresh instrumental music. I have performed in a variety of venues from Coffee Houses to Carnegie Hall.

In 2004, High Mountain Records released my solo album Days of the Year. In this CD, I tied a collection of powerful piano solos together by use of a repeated haunting theme much like in classical music\'s \"Pictures at an Exhibition.\" However, “Days of the Year\" is a collection of musical commentaries to personal emotional days in my year and life. There is a piece written when my mom died. There is a piece written which summed up a gutting, unsuccessful relationship; as well as a piece written for the hope in a new relationship. There is a piece written when I felt the power of nature in the first day of spring. And finally, there is even a piece written for the last day of the year when one reflects and tries to sum it all up! Although these are personal days for me, these are also \'days\' to which we all relate as part of living and the human experience.”

Spend some time with the music and listen to a few of the album selections. See how the story unfolds for you.

REVIEWS

Engaging and fluid like the movement traveling water.
author: Yahira
Like the ambiance of a mountain stream flowing into the mouth of a roaring river, Days of the Year will make your soul do just that. The ripples in the music plunge ones emotions into joy, sadness, empathy or depression. It demands that one senses the complexity and simplicity of what can happen when you allow truth and honesty to just be. No barriers. No closed doors. Only the freedom to feel what melody is there to tell you.

Carr's music is a delicate palette of emotions which felt like the sound track for my life. Expressed through his melodys, rythem's and the breaths between his notes,Day's Of The Year is a powerful acknowledgement of the beauty, sensitivity and resiliance of the human spirit. Carr's music is hopeful, I'm sure you will agree...

Early spring light
author: Nathanael Corre
This album expresses different mood settings. It grew on me after a few listenings. I find the music relaxing, detached, introspective, sometimes nostalgic. I recommend it for sunny mornings when the cold early spring light enters your living room window.
