As solid as New Orleans blues gets; saturated with New Orleans whore house piano and screaming Hammond B3, but above all, an intoxicating and emotionally bluesy vocal performance, taking the listener from early Ray Charles Soul to the best of Dr. John's N

Album Notes

Drenched with the sounds of New Orleans, Adrian Duke's piano is overshadowed only by the raw emotional power of his voice. Although he has found a home as a Blues artist; by blurring the lines between Blues, Funk, R&B, and Jazz, he has found critical acclaim, audience acceptance, and artistic peer recognition.

Though best known for his performance for Queen Elizabeth II, on her
recent trip to the US, Adrian has made a name for himself across the Southeast with his first three albums showcasing a unique blend of New Orleans Blues and Funk, paired with his uniquely expressive voice.

Check out Adrian's New CD, “Adriatica”. It's is a compilation of new material composed and recorded in the last two years, and embodies a full return to Adrian’s piano based, New Orleans blues and funk roots. Though most often compared with the sounds of Ray Charles and Dr. John, with “Adriatica”, Duke brings new vitality and humor to these classic sounds.

Love It
author: Big Mike
I bought this cd at a live show a couple of years ago. I still listen to it at least two or three times a month. The B3 work is top notch, the keys are awsome, and the singing is expressive. Adrian Duke will remind you why you fell in love with artist like Ray Charles and Joe Cocker.

This boy can play. And sing. Bad, bad stuff!

I'm a performing piano player and singer myself, and this CD is a revelation. This boy can play. And sing. Bad, bad stuff! All the piano and organ stuff is top-notch and soulful, and the arrangements are really nice. I especially like "Let's Go Get Stoned." This musician makes me realize how much I still need to practice.
