notes

The buzz on Adrienne Pierce continues to build. The Vancouver born singer/songwriter taps into a singular source to create music that has universal appeal. Her independently-produced debut, Small Fires, is a pop gem full of sublime songcraft and intense performances.

- John Goodman, North Shore News

You may have heard Adrienne's songs in Grey's Anatomy or Veronica Mars. She has been quietly writing and performing for years and is about to release a new album in January (2007)produced by Jeff Trott (Sheryl Crow).

Here is how it all started:
Two years after picking up a guitar and teaching herself to play, Adrienne found herself onstage at Lilith Fair. There was a contest in every city that Lilith stopped in and Adrienne won the contest and the coveted opening spot.

After releasing her debut album Small Fires, Adrienne toured extensively in suport of it. Adrienne has opened for Damien Rice, Ray Lamontagne, Jane Siberry, The Stereophonics, The Finn Brothers and many more. She was recently chosen as one of a handful of artists (Ron Sexsmith, Buck 65, Chantal Kraviazuk) to showcase at The Canadian Music Cafe for the Toronto International Film Festival. Adrienne was also chosen recently as one of just 5 artist (along with Ron Sexsmith) to have their music available at Second Cup store in Canada. There is an EP entitled "Exit" that is exclusive to Second Cup.

Adrienne has placed her songs in many television shows, (Chris Isaak Show, Just Cause, Cold Squad, Love/15, Edgemont etc.)and most recently in Veronica Mars and the ABC drama Grey's Anatomy. These recent placements were both for new songs which will be on her second release (January 2007).

Adrienne's debut CD, Small Fires, was nominated for Best Independent Album for the Georgia Straight Reader’s Choice Awards. The CD has been receiving great reviews at home and internationally.

I heard a song from this CD on the radio and spent several months trying to track it down afterwards. It was worth it.

This is one of those cd's full of well written songs that is great at first listen but has many layers and continues to grow on you. My friends keep stealing it and I have had to keep buying it.

What a refreshingly honest and organic flavour to this Woman's work!! I was soo pleased to hear songs written and perfomed by the Artist herself. I am really impressed by this independent and have it in my rotation of regularly played CD's

An amazing voice and beautifully insightful lyrics. You should buy this CD just for "Arizona" though all tracks are equally lovely.
