ÆLIAN: their name is inspired by Celtic culture and suggests pop-rock music with some Prog influences.
The band was founded in 1992, when 5 young musicians, Mark Aixer (lead vocals and frontman), Maurizio Antognoli (keyboards, back vocals), Giulio Palamenghi (guitars, back vocals), Paolo Benozzato (bass, back vocals) and Paolo Negroni (drums and percussions) decide to release their first CD "The watcher".

Produced and distributed by a French label, this CD receives an enthusiastic welcome by critics and audience.
After a satisfactory tour in Northern Europe (Holland, Germany and Denmark), the band plays as opening act for English band Caravan. The recording of their excellent live performance becomes a second CD.

The admiration for world famous bands such as Pink Floyd, Yes and Toto has a big influence on their first CDs. The coming of a new management pushes ÆLIAN to release their third album, "A tree under the colours," including more direct, probably more immediate tracks, which nevertheless keep the great vocal harmonies, typical of their songs.

This is mostly due to the new management, which considers the band to have its own music style; this style consists of their continuous developing research, aiming to release a different product than those already existing and create a commercial interest.

Some professionals of music business are involved in this project despite a limited budget, but most of the people involved believe in this product.

ÆLIAN's "A tree under the colours" is a CD full of emotions, where an incisive and involving instrumental technique joins never superficial nor obvious vocals.

Their English lyrics are focused on individual freedom, in a world where many people are still victims of injustice and intolerance, a world where human rights aren't fully recognized yet.

To enjoy the tracks at their best, let's get carried away with the spiral of their energizing, unforeseeable sound, but with their versatile creativity as well.

Once more French producers, satisfied by the sales of their first CD, invite them to join their label, and this deep interest pushes their management to reach an agreement. In the confused music business, "A tree under the colours" arouses some interest and it's especially praised abroad.

Listen to this CD more than one time and you will discover the magic world of AELIAN.
The AELIANS has landed.
