Album Notes

In a day where Indie music is not all that independent and music groups and their big hits are mass-produced in record label boardrooms, some bands take it upon themselves to revive the industry or ride the coattails of a hot genre. The Aesthetics is not that band. This Columbus, OH ska octet thrives on a simple principle of music. Its one that drops the F-bomb on poetry and sulking. In a word, its For-God's-sake-enjoy-yourselves or 'Stop-taking-things-so-seriously' music. The Aesthetics feel that ska is the appropriate vehicle for this cause.

Welcome to the Anti-Whine & Cheese Party. With so many morose emotions permeating the stages and airwaves, we ask 'Who gives a sh@% about your problems?' You know what? We have problems of our own. When faced with such a conundrum, one of two paths can be taken. One, you can cry about it or, two, you can admit life sucks and have fun with it anyways. The Aesthetics have chosen the latter path. We are here to remind you that SKA aint dead. You may wish it is or you will agree that it breathes a ferocious breath daily. We are loved and hated. Nowhere in between. And we're cool with that. Love us or hate us, our ska crusade won't perish because of what you think of us—we're going to continue doing whatever we want and foster those who are on our side.
