"Write to Live" is the third solo project by Afaar, and his best work to date. If this record would have to be summed up in one word it would be lyricism. From track 1 to 13 Afaar delivers a creative and unique style. The album itself is primarily teaching people to approach whatever talent or gift they have with excellence, being the very best they can. Like the parable of the talents (Matt. 25:13) Afaar believes any gift from God should be invested back to Him who gives all good gifts. This album is a combination of different styles, and inspiration. This protect is without a doubt entertaining, original and noteworthy for all listeners who enjoy hip-hop and faith based music. Write To Live is one of those rare albums that comes along and has an immediate and lasting impact in the sub-genre of Christian Hip-Hop. It is socially AND spiritually conscious which is somewhat rare in this era. The lyrics are heartfelt and the delivery is given with top-notch style and creativity. This album is a must own for serious hip-hop fans.
Definitely make sure you pick this project up. Not only will you be buying some of the best hip-hop around, you’ll also feed starving children and help free slaves all around the world (literally!). Proceeds from this album go to www.compassion.com, www.notforsalecampaign.org, www.dalitnetwork.org and www.rzim.org.
