Beautiful Scars
author: Janet Fisher - Pro Reviewer
Wow. This song is not flawless, but has moved me more than many songs I've heard over the past few months. It has a very sophisticated rhyme scheme, that one might miss unless one really pays attention. This writer has chosen to set up her rhymes on the first and third line of the verses, rather than the more traditional second and fourth lines. She also chooses inner rhymes for her fourth lines in her verses, and although I would have never believed I would have gone for it, I did! The topic of the song is incredibly sensitive. It could have become saccharin and trite very easily; but it didn't. She not only captures the situation in the lyric, but embroideries it even further with her sensitive melody. The emotional tying in of the experiences of the girl who was burned and scarred to Christ, portrayed as beaten and scarred, and the relating of her wounds to his is profound and totally original. I admire your courage in making that leap. Not many songs work, that make a comparison to a normal human and Christ; this one did for me. I loved the singer and can't imagine anyone doing a better job. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated getting to review this particular song. Thank you.

Beautiful Scars
author: Joey Finger - Pro Reviewer
It takes great courage to set out to make something like a "Scar" beautiful. You have definitely succeeded with this piece. What a masterpiece of song writing. Absolutely beautiful in every respect. It takes an incredibly open poetic mind to make this kind of song come to life and to put all the pieces so carefully in the proper order. Lyrically you immediately had me with a very visual and descriptive choice of words set in this phrasing with the power of a lullaby. The singer meant every word and sold the entire idea with a warmth that puts the listener in a powerless position with their only option being to believe. The instrumentation choices were flawless. Very musical choices were made and played. Each musician is a credit to the craft and played the song as a part of a collective to make this image come clear. This song is destined to be a strong favorite of any musical mind it touches and has the potential of being extremely successful in the Country/Christian radio market. Very well done.
