A six-piece post-punk band from Portland, Oregon; A Fragile Shade combine the heart and sing-a-longs of punk, the songwriting of metal, and the textural layers of indie artists to create pictures that are only completed in the voices of their fans.

Inspired by the many independent bands breaking the pop-radio mold, A Fragile Shade has developed a heartfelt style that constantly restructures itself to combine all their influences into one sound. In their recently self-released EP "Beneath These Ambitions" this six-piece has brought their passions for the melodic, diverse, artful, and technically capable bands that have surrounded them to the forefront. Song by song this post-punk debut is marked with melodic and rhythmic tensions, counterpoint interplay, and dynamically impassioned vocals.

By August of 2004, A Fragile Shade began taking their passion for music to venues throughout the West Coast. Developing a family style following their fans were born in every sing-a-long, explosion, and guitar swing. Having completed two entire west coast tours, A Fragile Shade have shared the stage with many national touring acts including Slow Coming Day (Tooth and Nail Records), Inked in Blood (Facedown Records), Still Life Projector and Coretta Scott (Rise Records), Brandtson and The Rocket Summer (The Militia Group), Roses Are Red and Bedlight For Blue Eyes (Trustkill Records), and others.
