"Alyson Greenfield is unique and genuine. Everything she does is honest. From her passionate, multi-layered piano playing, to her Spanish-style guitar strumming, sultry voice, deeply intelligent and humorous lyrics, and charismatic stage presence---this girl's got it all. I've never heard anything quite like her, and I can't wait to hear more."
--Dave Merenda, Grammy Award Winning Songwriter/Producer
(Sarah McLachlan)
Alyson Greenfield has been composing contemporary classical pieces on the piano since the age of eleven. At twelve she began singing lyrics over top of her instrumentation, which tackled issues of family strife and the vast and overwhelming notion of time. At fourteen she picked up the guitar and it was apparent that as much as she could write a graceful piano tune, she could also confidently strum the strings with rock and roll fervor.
She recently finished an east coast tour with NYC-based bands, Bacci and the WMDs, where she performed at one of New York City's hottest indie spots, Arlene's Grocery. Alyson will also be playing soon in another great room in New York City, the Rockwood Music Hall.
Currently she is writing lyrics and composing music for a full-length musical under the direction of Raphael Crystal, who received the New York Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off Broadway Musical for Kuni-Leml.
Additional credits include co-writing the screenplay for Sitting on Fire, a short film based on Alyson's original short story, which was selected to show in several national film festivals--among them the 2004 California Independent Film Festival and the 2003 Philadelphia Documentary and Fiction Festival, where it won Special Prize for Best Short Film. She has most recently been seen on screen acting in Splitpillow's The Alpha Project, Thomas Lisa's "White Hot Dork Funk" music video, and ZWAN's music video, "Lyric."

Alyson Greenfield has no regret flaunting her talents on her pre-debut EP, "Six
author: Brian Ball, Music Editor
When listening to Six Songs, the amount of talent exerted by Alyson Greenfield far exceeds the threshold of involvement demanded of the listener, therefore making it impossible to fathom the idea of skipping to the next track.
Although Six Songs makes no claim to be anything other than what it is, it plays like a full length release, in a sense that the listener is taken on an expansive journey through sound and emotion. Albeit the EP finishes in just under twenty five minutes, the distance traveled, and peace of mind gathered, is far greater than one would have anticipated.
Alyson displays her classical training and devotion to guitar and piano through the Six Songs EP, all while keeping her writing skilles honed, but not overpowering on songs like “My Honey” and “Good Looks”.
Fans of Sarah Machlachlan, Tori Amos, Thom Yorke and Caroline Downie (to name a few) will be in for a seductive and satiating morsel of soundwaves when they stop by CDBaby to pick up their very own copy of Six Songs, the prelude to an upcoming full-length debut by Alyson Greenfield.
