'Not That Sweet' and 'All the Tea' won honorable mention awards at the 2006 Mid-Atlantic Song writing contest. With thousands of entries from all over the world, this is a strong showing!
Allan's 5th CD and like "Cold Wind" and "Easy Loving You", he has penned all of these wonderful tunes. He is quickly being recognized as a great songwriter, with over 60 songs copyrighted, and more than capable in several genres. Allan performs locally with his blues band Free Rein, and does frequent SAW showcases with various other musicians, including the original members of Free Rein (John and Evan)
A few notes from Allan:
I am so pleased and honored to have such fine musicians playing on this cd, everyone has added something very special to each and every tune. Thanks to all of them for bringing your "A" game to the studio.
Tala Ramiandrisoa- on piano and tenor sax: Tala is from Madagascar, and has recently arrived in this country. He has his own group that plays in the DC area, and they kick butt!
Joshua Rich plays piano on many of the cuts, truly amazing, and a pleasure to work with! I give him most of the credit for making "Not Much to Say" come alive, I almost didn't include it on the cd, until Josh insisted on playing it...WOW! There is a link on the Free Rein home page for his page, please check it out.
Todd Ledbetter-soprano sax; once again, Todd plays such interesting solos and fills that just make a tune come to life. Todd also played on the Easy Loving You cd, which is now in its second pressing...Cool!
Ron Goad; drums and percussion. Ron has quickly become a good friend; I can't thank him enough for all of his wonderful playing and kind words of encouragement.
Seinna Joy- vocals; She has such a clear and clean sound, and did such a wonderful job with ˜Every Little Thing”, I can’t imagine it being sung any better than that.. You will hear much more from her in the future!
Carol Gaylor-vocals; I think she has a special quality to her voice. She is a well known songwriter/performer in the DC area and a winner of many songwriting contests.
Danielle Westphal-vocalist; Like Carols, Danielle is well know in the DC area, and has written and performed many wonderful songs, including a Concert at the White House. Her rendition of “Memories With You”, is truly beautiful.
Tom Wetmore; upright bass. Tom and I go back 30 some years, he's played something on most of my cds over the years. His schedule and health prevented him from being more involved on this project, but I look forward to the next project with him.
Scott Giambusso-upright bass; Scotts playing on “Every Little Thing” really tied the whole tune together. I met Scott one night when I went out to hear Danielle sing, he was playing guitar. He’s a fine jazz guitarist, and while chating with him, he said, he’s really a bassist! “Perfect”, I thought, that’s just what I need for a few tunes on this cd! As they say, the rest is history!

Enjoyed the use of piano and flute, can't wait to hear the whole CD. Reminds me of quiet nightclub music.
