Album Notes

“Somewhere in the Middle Distance” is diverse! One reason for this wide cross section of music is my own curious need to experiment with sounds and moods.

The other is that this material is drawn from a pool of original works all eventually intended for separate releases! The three concepts were vocal, electric instrumental and acoustic instrumental. Obviously this can take longer, and be more time consuming, than expected. Most sensible people would do one thing at a time, but anyway....

"Somewhere" is then a documentary amalgamation of these three concepts into one larger musical offering. The tracks were selected on their complementary moods and atmosphere and the listing sequence was carefully designed to take the listener on a journey of contemplation with a beginning, middle and end. Not a (dare I even say it) a concept album, the idea was that this music would be a soundtrack of reflective solitude for an unusual destination located Somewhere in the Middle Distance.....

Best,
AHH
