Album Notes

My song writing style is best described as polished chaos. I hold on to things longer than an average person would. There are songs that I wrote when I was 8 years old that I am still working on and I just haven't found the perfect melody for them yet. My songs start off as concepts that arise in spur of the moment occasions of inspiration. The concepts get dictated onto napkins, notebooks, my hand, into cheap recording devices, and sometimes into the company of others. My song concepts may sit in a box or in my brain for a long period of time before ever revealing themselves again. Sometimes the concepts merge into one and take on totally new synergy. I don't limit myself to any particular style. After certain concepts have gestated for a long enough period they usually fight their way out of me and demand to become a song. I sometimes feel like I have no control of their fruition. I find the most enjoyment when I get to listen to what I have just created. Due to this process of writing that I am akin to, my songs can take on multiple meanings to their listeners and that is what I enjoy most about them. For me, the songs are a series of ideas that I have encountered or discovered and in my own mind have a specific abstract meaning. I consider myself a personal songwriter that writes for the ease and comfort it brings me. If I catch a few ears and fans along the way, it's all that much more sweeter.
