Album Notes

Short biography

The band, originally founded as a five-piece group in 2002 , has already gained a lot of artistic experience by playing at local festivals and venues alongside such renowned bands as Maxïmo Park, I am Kloot, Amplifier and The Sunshine Underground. In October 2006 they've been chosen to support all Swiss shows of triple-platin-selling german group Silbermond (Sony BMG). This way The Air Collective has already been able to establish an increasingly growing fan base.
The bands’ musical influences mainly are Radiohead, The Strokes, Placebo, John Frusciante, The Smashing Pumpkins, but also Chanson or Disco.

Their first CD – the EP 'Pressure Points’ – was recorded in winter 05/06, and released in June 2006. A bunch of refreshingly new songs was born, oscillating between catchy and psychedelic, dynamic and gently.
The jury of the Demotape Clinic 2006, at the Swiss music convention 'M4Music', has valued their song 'Static City' to one of the three best in the category Pop. Since then, this song - as well as ‘Counting the minutes’ - gets regular airplay on Swiss radio stations like 'Couleur3', 'Radio 105', and some local and independent radios.
In summer 2007 'Counting the minutes' has been licensed by Philip Morris International for a worldwide download promotion campaign of their main brand Marlboro. The campaign will last for two years and include several countries worldwide.
