Album Notes

"Aisle Nine" is an original alternative pop-rock band from Middletown, New York (Orange County). Rhythm and News Reader's Millennium Favorites Poll listed "Aisle Nine" as the number 1 favorite rock band in the Hudson Valley region and their CD "Blueprint" was voted third favorite local recording. The title track from their CD has been getting airtime on the "On Stage" radio program on 92.7/96.9 WRRV-FM.

Sandy Tomcho, music critic for the Times Herald Record wrote :

"Songs on Blueprint grab listeners by the seat of their pants and take them on a roller-coaster ride full of jam-worthy riffs and full-bodied drum rhythms."

Presently "Aisle Nine" is creating new original material for a new demo CD, which they will be promoting at a number of county festivals as well as their club gigs, local cable channels and outlets. The anticipated release for the new demo is December, 2001.

Andrew Ruoti, the front man for "Aisle Nine" is currently attending Ramapo College in New Jersey, as a full time student with a major in music education. He started playing bass at age 15 and within one year became bass player for his older brother's Heavy Metal band "Project Insanity."

After a year or so Andrew formed a new band called "Mother Funk" with his brother Dan, sax and harp player Les and experienced drummer Stephen Hansen. "Mother Funk" disbanded but Andrew and Stephen stayed together to form "Aisle Nine." Andrew's father, Dan filled in for a Fourth of July party in 1998 and wound up staying on with the band, which started playing out as a power three piece in November 1998.

J.J. Belle joined the group as the bass player in the fall of 2000 and Andrew has made the switch from bass to rhythm guitar while continuing to sing lead vocals completing the group as a four piece.

The combination and variety of musical influences between Andrew, Dan, Stephen and J.J. offer a fresh, interesting alternative rock sound for their originals, which they incorporate into their sets more frequently as their fan base keeps growing. The group's ultimate goal is to eventually become signed as an all-original band. "Aisle Nine" anticipates their new demo to exceed the success of their first CD, which received excellent press.

Journalist Sandy Tomcho wrote:

"Their live show is a force to be reckoned with. It's as if you have a remote in your hand and have the power to make them play any of today's most popular rock songs. Every now and then at their performances they'll slip in some of their originals, which are definitely worthy of some serious airplay."

Gotta tell ya, this is the best music I have ever heard from an all original unsigned band. I highly suggest buying it! Ya know how sometimes you buy a CD because you've heard one song and when you listen to the whole thing, you are dissappointed? This is NOT the case with Reborn every single song will grab you and by the end you will be begging for more AISLE NINE. It is money well spent!

What can I say? Even though this may sound bias coming from the brother of lead singer Andrew Ruoti and the son of Dan Ruoti I strongly believe Aisle-Nine's Reborn is along side the hottest discs out there right now and deserves some major recognition. The songs on Reborn will blow you away from the crunchy pop rock based opening track "Better Off" to the melodic and gloomy presence of the heavy alternative hitter "Crawl". The guy’s even work a modern rock tribute to the doo-wop era with their catchy and fun sing along song "Are You My Girl?" which is sure to get your head bopping. A9's sophomore effort ends on the hard hitting "Once Again" with front man Andrew Ruoti's lyrics definitely stirring the listener’s emotions. Buy the C.D. now!!! Don't delay! It's a must have for your indie collection. Get on the aisle-nine wave now because with the fresh new music they are constantly pounding out only BIG things lie ahead for the band.
