The Aisling String Trio


With a lifetime of interest in music from across the globe, old and new, The Aisling String Trio performs spirited American and World folk melodies, light classical favorites, beautiful Celtic airs, and a variety of
light, contemporary standards. “Aisling” (pronounced ‘ash-ling’) means “dream” in Irish Gaelic, and this ensemble brings music to fit your dream occasion. The Trio moves seamlessly from Pachabel to O'Carolan to swing, to beautiful original pieces and occasionally slipping in an old time fiddle tune.
The Aisling String Trio features Gordon McLeod on violin, Dirje Smith on cello and Christy McLeod on guitar. All members perform as vocalists and write and perform their own compositions. Gordon and Christy McLeod are also members of the popular Celtic-flavored band, Beyond The Pale. Dirje Smith is a featured musician with many bands, including the folk-funk band, Jealousy Motel and the Old-Time Attoyac Valley String Band and Medicine Show.
