BASIC INFORMATION

I think of myself as a Revolutionary...I mean, I do not want to be presumptuous, but "making" art is not like making bread...so...I know it's all been done before and I wasn't the one that discovered the Mediterranean Sea, but I have discovered things somewhere inside my soul...perhaps it's just my fantasy joining arms with my imagination...I call those discoveries my music...I love rhythm and especially improvisation...I love being the musician as the sole and complete artist, you see, when you improvise, you are writing and playing at the same time...this is my first CD, and believe me, it is hard to define, but I think that "A J A" is like jazz. My friend and saxophonist Jesse Jones Jr. said to me: "Man, I listened to your CD, "A J A", tonight, and...It’s different. I really, truly like it...I listened to it several times. It made me want to keep listening to it over and over. I think that you have a good thing going. And to add more instruments on your next CD should be a knock out!! Please stay in touch."

So..."A J A" was A J A's debut album...born out of a need to create and grow, and I promise you that the next one will be quite different...as an artist I am on a quest and through spontaneity, I will create new material, new songs utilising other instrumentation...I have to say that this is powerful music...all songs are arranged for piano and electric bass...it is instrumental entirely...contains spiritual ballads, abstract bebop, it's great for meditation and especially for romance and sensuality because it has what many people have said is the sexiest songs around, elegant and erotic and many think of "A J A" as Sex Music. I love that! Well, in closing I would only say that listening to AJA is a pleasurable experience, right-o, remember, "Sex Music"...

AJA, at the time of "A J A", was: Pianist Stuart Schultz, (Stoo), truly a magnificent and gifted pianist who has created tremendous melodies...and me, BODO, I have always had a flair for the abstract, and a fascination with the mysterious...I tried to make my bass sound deep and otherworldly...although my taste ranges from "bubble-gum pop" to Gregorian Chants...

Makes me think of the origins of jazz...of creativity flowing, of spontaneity in music and of a cool breeze through a summer's afternoon coming to soothe the sweat beads from my skin...this is sensuous jazz at it's most elegant...LOVED IT!

I purchased it without knowing who these musicians were, now I will follow their careers, BODO, the bass player is an artist, www.bodoart.com he is an incredible poet as well...this music is sensuality on a pentagramme, I have never heard anything like this before, and I am a jazz lover! I am a booking agent for a club in Brooklyn that hires jazz players, I wish I could put AJA on our bill!!!
