With roots that spread from folk to funk, AJ Bascom blends diverse influences to create his unique style of alternative rock. His powerful baritone vocals communicate lyrics that are artfully crafted and refreshingly original. Bascom’s music is similar to Jack Johnson, Norah Jones, and John Mayer, but his dynamic sound allows his music to transcend genres and exist in its own world.
At the age of 15, Bascom released his debut album playing all instruments and garnered 10,000 plays on Mp3.com, reaching #3 on the Blues/Rock charts. A recent graduate of Dartmouth College, Bascom also studied music in London with professors from the Royal Academy of Music. He also toured North America and Europe as the director of the Dartmouth Aires, winning CASA’s album of the year in 2003 and 2005. Bascom has been highlighted on several radio stations, including WMWV 93.5.
