Angela J. Lee, gu-zheng master, was born in China, and is a bicultural and trilingual Chinese-American. She was tutored by Master gu-zheng artists Liang Zei Ping, Wei De-Liang and Li Ying.
"Heart's Strings" contains 10 selections of traditional Chinese music in her own arrangements for solo gu-zheng.
The 1996 Olympic Committee selected Angela Jui Lee to perform during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. She was warmly received as she introduced the ancient art of the gu-zheng and Chinese music to a vast Anglo-prominent society.
Her deeply emotional performance on the ancient Chinese instrument transports the listener beyond the confines of the setting into a mystical, meditative place of mind, soul and spirit.
* All arrangements are by Angela Jui Lee, and are published by Lux Nova Press http://www.luxnova.com/. Broadcast rights are ASCAP. Angela records on the T'ang Dragon Records label. She is available for solo recitals and lecture-demonstations. For booking information, e-mail: tangdragon@ajlee.com

"Heart's Strings" is a great example of Chinese Classical Gu-Zheng music! From the precise high tones to the low tones, this is one of the most relaxing CD's to listen to. And if you can appreciate good classical music, you can "feel" the emotions behind each plucked string.... so do yourself a favor, get this cd, sit back, relax, and hit "play"... you'll be glad you did!

The sound quality is good to excellent.
This cd deviates from the standard 11 to 12 songs
that one would usually find on a classic played zheng
cd. The songs are still classic but very much warmer
in feeling. This is good Guzheng music to listen to,
not put on as background filler but that is ok to if you
want to miss the force and depth that this cd has. I would
recommend this cd to any one who has a slight ear for classic
Guzheng music. Try it even if you don't.
