Album Notes

Music has always been an intricate part of my life. It has been and still is one of the most rewarding gifts I've ever experienced. Music has been a part of my family for many generations. My father, William Palmer, and mother Ruth Palmer was instrumental in encouraging myself and my siblings to pursue our musical abilities.

My interest began in music at any early age. I was fascinated with the drums, which is my main instrument. I later learned to play the guitar, piano, a little sax and trumpet as well as other instruments.

I listened to such greats as Little Richard, Chuck Berry and my favorite, James Brown. Many others inspired me to pursue music as a main career or second career. AS time progressed I later formed a group called "The Jeffettes". In the early 60's my first recording on Salem Label was entitled, "Ashes in the Ashtray". My second was "Smack Dab In The Middle Of My Heart", on Easy Label. I later appeared on the Ted Macke Amateur Hour. I have performed with seven local groups such as The Red Coats, Blues Limited, Truetones and Collegians. I've had the opportunity to perform with such greats as Lonne Liston Smith, Martha and the Vandellas, Terry Berry and the VIP's, Hank Ballard, Jack Mcduff, James Brown, and other musicians who inspired me. I have also had the privilege of being in the company of George Benson.

My first full recording came in 1993 with the release of "Shake Down", which did amazingly well locally and in the surrounding areas. My second release was on BDG Records entitled, "Just Jammin Blues With Me". This release afforded me the opportunity to perform in Willmington Delaware at the Delaware Theater. One of the cuts of this record was also selected to be on "The Best of BDG". My latest release "Forever" is in my opinion my best project. Both "Forever" and "Just Jammin Blues With Me" are now in distribution worldwide. "Forever" pays special tribute to the tragedy the United States experienced on September 11, 2001.

I have had the pleasure of performing in various places around the country. These include Smalls Paradise in New York, The Delaware Theater, Howard Theater, and Denver Center of the Performing Arts to name a few. Music is a love I have and I try to share that love through each song that is written. I hope you enjoy!!!
