Johnson was born and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia by his mother and stepfather. He is one of four children and has gained his love for music at an early age. A.J. had become known in his community as a star who was just waiting for his chance to shine. He was influenced by the artists his parents played on the radio, such as, Michael Jackson and Prince.
In 2000, A.J. began exploring the possibility of pursuing what had become his dream; “Music!!!” He joined Refuge C.O.G.I.C. Hip Hop Music Camp where he began learning about the music industry.
