Album Notes

Established in 1997, Cleveland Ohio based Against The Grain Music was founded by a young singer/rapper by the name of Aaron Jermaine Stone, better known to everyone else as AJ or AJ SCRATCH from his DJ days back at Cleveland John Adams High School. After the "House Party" circut as a DJ, AJ became a member of TNF (Turner & Friends) [Later known as: The New Organization] A national R&B recording group which were coveted by several labels in the early 90's as a backround singer, lead rapper and group choreographer. After 5 years of bad contracts and hectic travel, AJ decided to start his own company. Learning his craft from then producers Troy & Fred Colvin, he mastered drum programing and along with best friend Kenneth "B.B" Turner (Who has produced for such artist as The Rude Boys, Klockwork, and The Turner Singers gospel group) , AJ learned to not only grasp chords but figured out how to play by ear with NO formal piano lessons. AJ along with "B.B" also helped groom a young 15 year old kid from MtOverlook Street in Cleveland by the name of Myron, now known to the world as R&B Superstar - AVANT!! Against The Grain Music's first release came in September of 2004 with it's CD from the Power Group: REMIXX. In 2005, AJ finally completed his much anticipated first solo release: Y2J THE ALTER EGO, which was released on 10/6/05! A seasoned vet in the game now at the masterful age of 38. AJ has a whole host of Collabo's and production credits that loom as he is making a name for himself for being a Super Track Master! Not to mention his sophmore solo effort: Primped Primed & Potent set for Summer 2009. AJ has also launched ATG Gospel with Jeannette Turner-Morgan & Kenneth "B.B' Turner (Both formerly of The Turner Singers). With the constant comparisons to "DIDDY" in part to his likeness of him, this man has talent but hands on skills!!!
