Album Notes

This is a fine collection of traditional Celtic ballads and acoustic versions of some of Alan Kim Cochran's original ballads. The song "Castles and Kings" takes an ancient melody, originally sung in Latin, and gives it wholly new lyrics and subject matter - it's about a girl who dreams of the valiant days of olden times - times that never were, really. Knights in armor, dragons jousting - castles, and kings.

John Barleycorn is always a favorite!

The Bonnie Woods of Hattan, and A Song For My Son, are very sad songs - but for entirely different reasons.

It's acoustic! Sit back and let Alan Kim Cochran be your guide to other times, and places in the heart!
