I tried to express "the Mystery of Mathematics" on this album.
1. Pi
I concealed 100 digit "Pi" into this track.
Repeated same minimal phrase means rotary circle and then new phrase appearance means the computer instead of the human to calculate Pi.
2. Sunflower
This track means "Fibonacci series".
Many plants appears on it.
For example you can see leaf spread, of course sunflower's seed too.
Sunflower is summer flower, so many summer sound-scapes into this track.
3. Fermat's Last Theorem
This track starts short phrase. Only Intro and Ending exist.
That means Fermat wrote only proposition and conclusion.
Many Mathematician strove to solve it.
Organ sound becomes, it means NEW mathematics factor appearance (for example "Group theory") and at last had been solved.
4. Mysmatics
If you feel epical mathematics history, I'm glad.
5. Prime Number
TWO is an "even" prime number.
SEVEN, ELEVEN and THIRTEEN are prime number.
Therefore 2 beat hit and 7th,11th,13th chord repeated like infinitely.
6. Mysmatics (Reconstructed By Daiten)
Daiten is great noise bassist and my friend.
He crushed 1 to 5 tracks and I rebuilded those sounds.
7. Mysmatics (Korg M01 Version)
I programmed track 4 by use NINTENDO DS "KORG M01".
今回のアルバムは「数学の神秘」をテーマとしている。Tr.1 Pi では円周率を音楽に取り入れる方法論として、円周率の小数点以下100桁を記号化してトラックに隠してある。ミニマルなフレーズの繰り返しはグルグルと回る円そのものだ。途中で展開が変わるのは、πの算出にコンピュータが使われ始めたことを表現している。 Tr.2 Sunflower はフィボナッチ数のイメージだ。植物の種子のつきかた、枝葉の広がり方にはフィボナッチ数が見られる。その代表としてヒマワリを選んだ。ヒマワリといえば夏の花。夏のイメージとしてセミの鳴き声や雷鳴を楽曲に盛りこんである。また基本となるトラックに、どんどんとFM変調を重ねてかける手法によりフィボナッチ数列を表している。 Tr.3 Fermat's Last Theorem はフェルマーの最終定理がモチーフである。有名なこの定理において、フェルマーは数学書の片隅に命題と結論しか残さなかった。曲はイントロ（命題）とアウトロ（結論）のみの短いフレーズから始まる。様々な数学者により次々と命題と結論を埋めるチャレンジが繰り広げられ、そして突如別の数学理論があらわれ解決へ向かって動き出す。 Tr.4 MYSMATICS は本作のメインテーマである。数学の総代で魅力的な歴史を感じていただければ幸いである。ボーナストラックである Tr.7 はNintendo DS用音楽ソフト、KORG M01にて制作したヴァージョンとなっている。 Tr.5 Prime number は素数を音楽化した。唯一の偶数の素数2は全編を通して刻まれる二拍のリズムとして、7th,11th,13thの「素数」コードをミニマルに繰り返している。そして Tr.6 は若くして頭角を現しつつあるノイズベーシストであるDAITEN氏に全てのトラックをお渡ししてリコンストラクトしていただいた作品である。再構築されたMYSMATICSの世界を心行くまで体感していただきたい。今回この再構築を快諾頂き、すばらしいトラックを提供していただいたDAITEN氏には最大限の感謝を顕したい。なお、本来5本25分のトラックが存在したが、それを16分の尺の一曲に私が再度リビルドさせてもらっている。
