Those who love the perfectly executed mix of lyrical melodies loaded with harmonies, will find Alabaster an epic win. Their style is reminiscent of Rise Against, and Paramore if they got it on with Anberlin of course.... Throw in some Flyleaf undertones, and it's definitely hawt.
Alabaster, originally from Chicago and now residing in Seattle, has been on a long journey to bring forth the album you have been waiting for. The new EP, "Unraveled" is a blend of the raw emotional lyrics and more sophisticated playing and executed pop tendencies. This album reaches deep into the very real struggles of love, addiction, survival, recovery, and leaves you gasping for more. Through their unique blend of chunky guitar riffs, haunting synth, dance-worthy drums, and melodic vocal harmonies, they are able to reach the hearts of music lovers in all genres. The band has played, CMJ, Warped Tour, Bumbershoot, and have spend many of the last few years touring up and down the coast.
On "Unraveled" Alabaster went with the best of the best involving the very talented producer, Joel Casey Jones from Blessed by a Broken Heart (ref: Monsters Scare you, Girl On fire, Anchor the Tide, & Keeping Secrets). The EP was mastered by the untouchable Kris Crummet at Interlace Audio (ref: Tides of Man, Alesana, A lot Like Birds, & Dance Gavin Dance), and you can tell through the sound this album will take them to uncharted waters.
With the anchors up, Alabaster looks to a new horizon of possibilities as they grow more and more. They are sure of one thing: pouring their hearts and souls into music that reaches even one person is a life worth living. Because really, the journey is really just beginning for this young power-pop / rock band.
