Album Notes

Alacartoona's stage show is a visual extension of their all-original songbook. Utilizing a stripped down ensemble of accordion, bass, drums and the occasional guitar, they bring to life vivid tales of love and loss, of bedrooms and back alleys, of the solitude and the camaraderie of sex, drugs and cabaret.

An Alacartoona show is an experience: poignant lyrics, powerful vocals, surprising compositions, all supporting a cast of characters completely convincing in their triumphs and tragedies. No one leaves an Alacartoona show unmoved, be it to tears or libidinous conquest. Or both.

But words pale in the face of experience. Come to the cabaret and see for yourself...

Alacartoona's "live on the air: kkfi radio" was recorded during a live radio appearance on the legendary Kansas City community radio station 90.1 FM. The tracks were then mastered at Evolution Audio. These are all first takes with no overdubs.

A Precious Gift from the Gods who have hear our Plea for more of Alacartoona's sweet sounds! And what a Gift!! Incredible Great Fortune awaits the listener as we hear songs from their live shows that we all wished and prayed for, but didn't get with the release of their first album, "Songs from the Show". From Ruby's Astounding version of "St. James Infirmary Blues" to Providence's Lusty "Just a Drink or Two" and the Thriller "The Apartment", combined with the other magnificient tracks, help ease the withdrawal we all suffer with while we await their next studio album. AAAHHH....I Feel Sooooo Much Better NOW!
