Alan Kirk's performing career started at a young age in the United States, where he played in local and regional bands. Before moving to Canada, Alan was involved in starting a co-op recording studio for area musicians.

Alan's music industry experience came while working for a Toronto based music production company, allowing him to make lasting contacts in music production, publishing, and film.

Constantly writing and looking for new avenues for his music, Alan recently placed his song "Hungry" in a major TV advertising campaign for Red Lobster; his song "Time In The World" has recently been included in the feature film 'The Tanchiro Brothers'.

Alan has played solo, and with other musicians in the United States, Canada, New Zealand and Europe. He describes his music as Eclectic Classic Rock, with a range of styles and instrumentation incorporated into his sound.

"I like to write intriguing songs about people, including characters I invent, and their many experiences and relationships. To me, a good song is one that has emotional impact on the listener. Sad, angry or happy - I want to leave you with a lasting feeling."

Alan currently lives in a remote area of British Columbia. His album "Getting There" was recorded across the United States and Canada, and he is currently working on a new CD. When Alan is not busy with myriad creative projects, he enjoys the great outdoors, traveling, and fast cars.

    The first time I listened, I heard the pop/folk sounds of my favourite artists of my younger years. It felt good. The next time I listened I heard the lyrics more than felt the overall mood, and found a blend of themes and ideas and stories that convinced me that there is something for just about anyone on this cd. To me, this is fresh, real music, not angst-addled or soft - I hear pop, country, folk and blues and I want more!

    Very nice songs : both optimistic (Life is good) and bitter (In my room) considerations about life. Very nice music, well played and sung : slow ballads (It isn't enough), love songs (Love too much), blues (Hungry), rock (Time in the world). My favourite : Fires burning. Looking forward to the next CD !

    I like this cd. I think the only thing that kirk can do from this point is grow. My fav's are broken channels, time in the world**, and In my room!! I think that it might play on the ears of and older crowd a little better because of its light sound...but in my opinion....a good light sound...something I could sing with once I learn the words!!
