Album Notes

Starting his performing career in the U.S. as a teenager, Alan moved to Canada to continue playing and writing, while he worked in the music industry there. Alan has performed solo, and with his band The Alternators, in North America, Europe and New Zealand. The current Alternators lineup includes bassist Charly Maucher from the iconic German band, Jane.

Songs by Alan have been licensed for TV, commercials and film. He also continues toon a variety of projects for Phonic Records. Alan currently lives in the Nelson area in British Columbia, Canada, where he finds inspiration from the areas natural beauty and ecclectic, creative culture.

Some Songs shows just how well Alan Kirk can write and record just what satisfies - catchy, energetic Rock. The album sees the return of key members of Alan’s production team, with some talented new additions. This album is bound to get attention and provide more great music for downloads, TV and film.

Great Classic Rock Sound

Alan’s sound is better than ever! His new raw rock is more organic than what you heard on the last album (Getting There) but the solid writing and his love of music still shines through. ‘Hide Your Heart’ could have played on the radio in the mid 70’s.

Rock never dies

Good second album of this canadian rocker: more accurate sounds and very nice chorus, songs with straight, true texts. You can feel the spontaneity of this artist and if you like 60-70 pop-rock music you will appreciate this groovy pop-rock album (by no way outdated).
