This is a live rock album recorded in 1990 at venues in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka Japan, featuring one of rock's most endearing eccentrics, Alan "The Aleecat" Merrill.
The material was for the most part written by Merrill around that time period, and the songs have appeared in studio versions later, on various album releases such as "Pink Soup," "Chemical Reaction," "Boy's Life" and "Tawny Tracks."
Joining him on this tour are an all star cast featuring
Robin LeMesurier (Rod Stewart Group, Farm Dogs) on guitar, Donnie Kisselbach (The Turtles, Derringer) on bass, The Coconuts (of Kid Creole & fame) on backing vocals, Shinoyan (The Happenings Four) on keyboards, Hiroshi Oguchi (Vodka Collins, Pyg, The Tempters) on drums, and The Upskirt Horns rounding up the entourage.
This is a real live album, with no post production fixes. It's a straight off the mixing board album, raw and live rock, as it should be.

The Aleecat, Live in Japan"
author: jeanne dark
Recorded in Tokyo, Nagoya ans Osaka this Alan Merrill solo album is a well paced live rock n roll recording. Lots of energy, fun songs, great vocals and fiery playing all around. Robin LeMesurier's solos are smooth as silk, and Merrill's vocals on songs like "Bridge to the Moon," "So Deep" and "Knife" are first rate!
"out on the Line" is a never before released Merrill composition with a catch chorus and a rap verse. For those of you who have never seen Merrill live with his bands The Arrows, Runner of Vodka Collins over the years, this alabum is a fine way to experience what a live concert might be like by this artist.
