Alan Peterson's second solo album has 14 tracks of his original songs that are truly "of the heart". From the opening title cut (featruing Marc "Doc" Sackman and Sarah Adams), and songs like "Follow Your Dreams", to the final "Fly (911)", Alan lets the listener know that we are living in a world filled with love and hope. There are also some more traditional love songs here, his "Circle Of Love" (WEDDING SONG) and the lovely, "Everything I had in Mind" are both wonderful tributes to the bond between committed individuals (see review below).
The CD also includes some country fun with "Wishin' and A Hopin'" (featuring Dave Grafe), a tribute to the late George Harrison in "Eastern Wind" and a number of songs with Alan's band, Harmonic Convergence, featuring their unique three part harmony. All in all, "Music Of The Heart" is a great mix of styles and sounds and a wonderful sampling of the music that comes from the heart of Alan Peterson.
"These two songs (CIRCLE OF LOVE (WEDDING SONG) & EVERYTHING I HAD IN MIND), performed by vocalist Alan Peterson, are nice alternatives to conventional love songs. Meaningful lyrics on both and orchestrated well." Bestweddingsites.com music
"The Circle of Love ceremony including original music by Alan Peterson was the most beautiful we ever attended."
"By the end of the ceremony, our guests were awed by the beauty of the music that Alan has actually written himself. This made our wedding totally unique from all other's weddings. When Alan sang "Circle of Love" I think the entire room glowed in joy,and tears were flowing throughout the room. I just love seeing grown men cry!"
Alan performs in venues all over the Pacific Northwest, and has served as music Director at both Whole Life Church and Unity of Beaverton in the Portland Oregon area.
"Alan Peterson has gifted us here at Unity of Corvallis on several occasions. He is a joy to work with and a genuine talent that connects at a heart level with our congregation. His songs and music are original, inspiring and meaningful as well as great to listen to as an uplifting antidote to a dreary week."
Rev. John Butler Unity of Corvallis
"Alan composes his music by ear, heart, and instinct rather than by rule - even though he knows the rules well. Additionally he is one of the most pleasant, supportive, and accountable musicians I have ever worked with. I say this as a minister who deals with hundreds of musicians a year."

"Alan’s music comes straight from his heart, connects to the listener’s heart, and creates a space of peace and healing. His songs are the kind you can listen to over and over again and never tire of the melodies or lyrics. They touch one at deep levels. Other songs are just plain fun! They are great to listen to in the car, on the treadmill, or at work." Reverend Robin Haruna Unity of Bandon

"Alan's lovely voice, emotional delivery and the beauty of the music he writes is indicative of the spirit and gentleness of a man who is not afraid to let the world know that he is a self realized person and willingly exposes his soft side to the world, for the benefit of all concerned. You cannot come away from one of his concerts or just listening to a CD, unchanged. As an opera singer for many years, I am accustomed to listening for quality, with Alan's work, you listen for pleasure." Reverend Gail Key-Benson
