Album Notes

ALA NUI (english translation: big path) is an album of folk/island musical stories expressed through the sounds and rhythms of percussionist Mike Muldoon, and various guest artists. Mike worked as a member of Bruddah IZ Kamakawiwo'ole's band for several years and is joined here with fellow band mates Mel Amina and Analu Aina. Together the trio played on Israel's albums Facing Future, E Ala E, In Dis Life, Iz the Man and His Music, and other recordings. Ala Nui is a soulful tapestry of rural island music.
