10am Records is proud to announce the release of ‘10 o’clock in the morning’ the debut solo album from Alan Windram 11 tracks of melodic, sun-kissed Scottish Americana, with harmonies and hooks to die for.
Following the release of three successful independent albums with Edinburgh-based indie favourites ‘Splendid’, singer / songwriter Alan Windram returned to the studio to work on his debut solo album. The resulting tracks were recorded and mastered by ‘Alex Tronic Records’ boss Paul Croan, with the finishing touches added after Alan spent a month touring California on his Triumph - following in the tyre tracks of Steve McQueen, through the streets of San Francisco, across the Golden Gate bridge and into the west.
In the past Alan’s songs have been sought after by numerous artists, including award-winning Canadian alt-country band Doc Walker, and for placement in various film and television projects.
A cross between Jason Mraz and Travis with a hint of Snow Patrol, the album combines Alan’s talent for catchy melodies that can’t fail to get under your skin, with lyrics that take you unawares with their naive honesty and poignancy.
The first track to be released from the new album as a download-only single will be ‘Crazy Girl’ (release date 06/07/09)
So slip on your shades, wind down the window and turn the volume up loud.

Sunshine pop from wet and windy Scotland!

If you've heard Alans former band 'Splendid',then you'll know what to expect.Great tunes and harmonies and guitars that jangle like only the Scots seem to know how to make them. It's very hard to pick a favourite track.Any one of them could be lifted as a single. No fillers. But lets face it it's been 10 years since the last Splendid album so Alans had time to write some great songs......and he has! Great to have him back and hopefully we won't have to wait another 10 years for the follow up!
