Ouch! - Welcome to Albuquerque is a 2-disc set featuring 45 original songs by 45 top artists hailing from the Duke City.
Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S.A. Population: 419,681 (we're told it's actually closer to 600,000 now, but that's not a huge difference) A city where the percentage of artists per square inch appears to be unusually high.
Maybe the sky, the earth, the green chili, or the alien abductions compel its people to undergo that strange and dangerous act of expressing themselves.
Whatever the cause, New Mexico, and Albuquerque in particular, boasts a massive and powerful music scene that could spank even the most staid. Ouch! is a proud representation of that fact.

This is the cheapest jewel you'll ever buy

45 songs on 2-discs - WOW! There has to be something for everyone
on this comp. I can't say I loved every song, but hey, although
open minded, I do like some styles more than others. Either way, my
girlfriend liked many of the tunes that weren't high on my list so we
finally have a couple discs that we can listen to together. Some quick
standouts: Stretch, Treadmill, Kimo, D.B.E, the Hopefuls, the Skunks . . .
there's just too many. Get this, you'll love it.

A new sound coming out of Albuquerque. Next Seattle? Maybe...
author: Artist Trade
Something is going on in the southwest city we know as Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Ouch!-Welcome to Albuquerque compilation was released at the start of a buzz, and now is a superb documentation of a city ready to burst with sound. I don't think it's possible to like every song on the 2 disc comp, but there are shining stars that have evolved into better bands as well as new groups all together. Groups like Crash Kills Four (now Celebration), Left Unsaid, Starsky, and The Skunks (now Oh Ranger!) are prime examples of the sound this little city with a population of little over 500,000 can make. Maybe it's the fact that Albuquerque is not joined at the hip with LA or New York. These bands are lost somewhere in the middle of America and have found a way to express themselves better than anyone ever imagined. Something IS happening in Albuquerque, NM. Look at the Ouch!-Welcome to Albuquerque disc as you would look at baby photos... these kids know what they're doing.
