Album Notes

Composer, performer and arranger Al Clogston is a transplanted New Yorker living in London, England with his English wife and three half/English kids. Before crossing the pond Al worked in the New York entertainment industry for 16 years after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from The Hartt School, University of Hartford, in West Hartford Connecticut. An accomplished musician, he has performed as a jazz pianist, blue-grass banjo player, actor, vocalist, and was a founding member of the popular Irish folk band the Hudson River Boys. He has appeared in venues ranging from the Empire State Building to the All England Lawn Tennis Club. For 10 years he served as Production Coordinator and stage manager for New York’s Little Orchestra Society, which presents over 60 concerts annually for audiences of all ages.

In London, apart from raising kids, Al is working as a solo jazz pianist and accompanist, teaching piano privately from home, and building custom made acoustic guitars, a skill he acquired since coming to England.

Booga-Booga! was Al’s first musical, originally performed in Traverse City Michigan. It has since been professionally produced in London. Al has also written two revues for the Wimbledon Light Opera Society, a group with which he regularly performs and occasionally musically directs.
