HOLLOW BODY STUDIOS ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF ALEJANDRA O’LEARY’S "NOTHING OUT LOUD"
Hollow Body Studios is proud to announce the release of "Nothing Out Loud," the debut solo recording of New York City singer-songwriter Alejandra O’Leary.
"Nothing Out Loud" combines elements of pop, rock, folk and even some country. Influenced by artists ranging from Elvis Costello, Morrissey, The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Liz Phair, Wilco and Lucinda Williams, O’Leary’s honest, to the bone lyrics are explorations in the many sides of love, loss and heartache and all that falls in between.
"Nothing Out Loud" was produced by songwriter / producer Doug Kwartler, owner of Hollow Body Studios. The production is rich with texture and according to Kwartler is the most sonically adventurous record he’s worked on since opening Hollow Body to the public about 8 years ago. He remarks, “I always want the last record I work on to be the best sounding, and this by far is. Not to mention it’s also filled with some of the most amazing songs and great vocal performances.”

Simple Pleasures

Alejandra O’Leary – Nothing Out Loud
Simple pleasures. Alejandra O’Leary’s debut is chock-full of uncomplicated pop songs that waver between ‘60s joie de vivre and a knowing Liz Phair vibe, certainly in their delivery. My favourites: the wonderfully addictive “Thinkin’ Straight” and ‘Tremors’, which has one of those hooks that would make Peter Anderson (top angler) proud. So it’s raw, mercifully straightforward songwriting, which grabs hold and doesn’t let go. Of course, she takes on all the important stuff: love, loss and the bits in-between. I’m not sure whom to thank, but I am thankful that great singer-songwriters continue to get their records out - and I carry on finding them.
