infectious and ethereal all at once
author: Barbara
Last week I invited six women to come live with me via cd baby, and Tania is the honored guest. Except she won't be leaving anytime soon. Bandaid Solution, The Flow, and Snowflake Metaphor are the infectious, all able to withstand multiple playings while repeatedly satisfying. I must say about Snowflake, I haven't felt so inspired towards personal individuality since Ani's Pick Yer Nose. This cd is a wonderful collection of stories short and long, easy to love, with some unusual (yet not jarring) arrangements, and the voice... a crystal with sharp edges, able to cut or dazzle with it's shininess. Prepare to be surprised at the diversity, the songs not on sample are more pensive and haunting. No Sides is 14 min. long and will require in no particular order: a glass of wine, an unhurried attitude, and a cluttered mind. The last because with one thoughtful listen it will sweep out all the cobwebs in your dusty corners.

one of the most original pieces of music I've heard in years.

This is one of the most original pieces of music I've heard in years.
It's the musical version of a tapestry... lush, rich, intricate, beautiful, woven together with the silken threads of Tania's voice. I haven't been this excited about a CD since Rickie Lee Jones put out her first. Emergence will defy your attempts to catigorize it- simply amazing. Buy it, you'll fall in love!

an amazing album

The opening track alone (Bandaid Solution) is well worth the price of admission here -- the complex rhythms and lyrics, the funky horn section, the subtle hook that ultimately draws you in. But for those of you who insist on solid albums... everything that follows is brilliant too! The musical styles here are diverse, from lush piano ballads to the aforementioned funk, and yet the album is absolutely cohesive with every track woven into a seamless whole.
