Alex Berkley is a singer/songwriter currently located in Buffalo, NY. His songs are melodic and poetic, with themes ranging from love and loneliness to philosophical confusion. Alex’s first self-released CD is Lists and Listlessness is a collection of songs with a mixture of smartly crafted folk songs and intensely orchestrated indie rock. The album is scattered with finger picked classical guitar, mandolin, and accordion, as well as beautiful vocal harmonies and raucous guitar solos. With brilliant production by Harvest Sum’s Mark Nosowicz, Lists and Listlessness is a wonderful piece of art from this promising young songwriter.

Great songwriting--this is the kind of stuff that could be covered by John Hiatt or another major name and easily be a top hit. I find myself choosing to play this over many of my favorite CDs, and Song of the Morning should be playing on the radio for everyone to enjoy.
