Album Notes

Alex Call has been an recording artist and songwriter for over thirty five years. His top " Billboard Hot 100" hits include the legendary " 867- 5309/Jenny" by Tommy Tutone, "Perfect World" and " Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and the News, "Little Too Late" by Pat Benatar,

"Just Take My Heart" by Mr. Big, and many, many others. In Nashville, he has cuts by Mindy McCready and Daryl Singletary.

He was the lead singer in the San Francisco cult favorite band Clover ( the band on Elvis Costello's "My Aim is True"), along with Huey Lewis and John McFee( Doobie Bros.), and has been a recording artist for Arista, Mercury, and Fantasy Records. He has been a staff writer for several music publishers including Warner Chappell Los Angeles, Hulex, Brewman Music, March Music, and Warner-Chappell UK.

A San Francisco native, Alex has lived and worked in London, Los Angeles, and currently, Nashville.

This is the best record I've ever made. Co-writers include Huey Lewis, Jim Keller (lead guitar of Tommy Tutone)Angela Kaset( Something in Red), Jon Robbin( I Breathe in, I Breathe out),Jon Jeller(many hit songs), up-and-coming artist Justin Smith, and AustrailiaProducer of the Year Mark Moffatt. There is a live version, recorded at Nashville's legendary Bluebird cafe', of 867-5309/Jenny - the song everyone knows!

I don't want to be over the top, but this is an excellent collection that any fan of Alex's or Clover's should own. If nothing else, Alex has a knack for writing listenable songs with great melodies. Well. Done.

I've been waiting years for new Alex Call songs after humming his wonderful old Clover songs happily for 25 years. Delighted to find that he still has the touch for a killer hook and the perfect lyric. This CD deserves wide acclaim.
