Album Notes

Remember that guy in school who listened to Gun Club and knew Scarface by heart? Well, Alex Gomez hasn’t changed a bit, still putting us all to shame by not giving one flying fuck. Electric slide guitar a-screeching, Alex Gomez testifies where careless love, casual sex and substance abuse collide. It sounds like a jagged tin can scraped with a rusty switchblade, both infuriating purists, while fascinating initiates. If you like Keb Mo' and Eric Clapton, you'll hate Alex Gomez. But, if you dig Bob Log III and Jon Spencer, who critics compare Alex Gomez to, then welcome to a roller coaster ride deep inside the hellhole called Punk Blues.

Think Bob Log III
author: Punk Planet
The guitar player in this band shreds. He’s also the only member of this band. Alex Gomez wails on distorted electric blues slide guitar while howling like a mental patient. Think Bob Log III.

raunchy guitar blues with whiskey-drunk throaty vocals
author: Smother.net
Electric blues that sounds as if it was cooked up in the Delta—in a punk club. Rockabilly edged, “Warm Sensations” isn’t afraid to toss up the Clapton to 11 and crank that distortion pedal to the max. Other folks have name-dropped the likes of the Black Keys and Jon Spencer, and I’d have to thump my chest in agreement. Nice and raunchy guitar blues with whiskey-drunk throaty vocals.

Extra awesome, extra dynamic and extraterrestrial
author: Rocktober
“Bizarrely saturated guitar treated so thoroughly it sounds like a Martian is playing. It makes these blues numbers extra awesome, extra dynamic and extraterrestrial. And he runs his vocals through some kind of device that’s just as wild and just as googly. Or he’s a space robot who just sings like that.”

Alex Gomez is possessed by demons
author: Komakino
Alex Gomez is possessed by demons, demons of blues, that kind of voodoo blues, sordid and ill. In His own private case, here He's alone with the electric guitar, under continuous gut wrenching riffs, slide style, distorted and wild, without a pause, - a 30mins assault of fascinating raw and dirty sounds, just like the lo-fi r/l channel production chosen. He's a guitar man, - like the last track has called, - his rancid lyrics of love and lust will guide into a sidewalk series of punk blues.
