Good hip-hop mirrors the classic rock of my childhood.  Not radio rap crap, not ring-tone rappers, not bitches and hoes, not guns and drugs.  Real life.  Real people.  Real stories.  This reflects in the music.  Lies seep through in the hollowness of the voice.  
The introduction of Alexipharmic's "American Beauty" to my music library has been, dare I say, as important as that first Wu-Tang Clan show.  My deaf dog loves bass – it makes her dance.  When the Elephant Memories label dropped “American Beauty,” my dog and I spent the better part of a week dancing around my living room and yard to the wisdom behind the young, but clearly not innocent nor naive, voice on those tracks.  My neighbors probably thought I was crazy, but the basic pleasures in life shouldn’t be denied.  
This is a stellar album.

Alexipharmic is truly one of the only great hip-hop artist around, right now. It's nice to see people make music independently with meaning and a cause. He is also a great guy, HALF! of the money from each sale made is given to charity, hopefully people will learn from this and big time people will start to follow in his footsteps and contribute something to society. American Beauty is a masterpiece, lyrically on a different level then most other artists of this generation.

"American Beauty" is a masterpiece.  This is an album that will stick with you long after you've gone to sleep.  You'll see Atefeh everywhere, and suddenly have the urge to spread the word of this societal wrong.  Those rose-colored glasses you didn't realize you were wearing have suddenly dropped to the ground, all because of hip-hop!  You'll want to simply -do- good.  And you have done good by purchasing this album, as a portion of all proceeds go to MerciCorps, thanks to Alexipharmic.  And each time you listen, you learn something new.  This is like classic rock, with bass.  Breathtakingly beautiful.

This album can be enjoyed by all ages. It has the verble power and hypnotic beats that will change the future of hip hop. Alexipharmic raises the bar of lyrisms in this album, ensuring that Hip Hop will never again be the voice of violence and self repression. His cleaver flows and lyrics are life changing but always for the better. I can't mark the stars to give this masterpiece it's proper rating but it's definately a perfect 5 out of 5. Be prepared when you listen to this album because it has the power to turn you on, make you cry, allow you to laugh, and brings back those perfect memories of childhood that warms the soul of the coldest individual.
