Alexis Guerra
Alexis (originally hailing from Dallas, Texas) was transplanted by her parents at age7 into New York State’s northern city of Rochester. While growing up there, she was afforded the opportunity to attend a “Middle” and High School where the performing arts were taught (to which she readily availed herself). Singing and dancing since age 11, she quickly became an Entertainment mainstay for the town’s local Productions and Community functions she honing and bolstering her affinitive fluidity in Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater, Hip-Hop and “Clogging.”
Growing up listening to the likes of the Alternative role models Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Nirvana, she was compelled to write and perform (instrumentally, via the piano and guitar, and through her inherent acting abilities) with a unique flair for the dramatic.
After leaving Rochester’s School of the Arts where she majored in Musical Theatre, she moved to New York City to further pursue and ensure her future in “The Industry.”
Success as an alumnus of New York’s Academy of Dramatic Arts, led her to New York City’s Hunter College (driven to complete her academic journey) and into the world famous “Greenwich Village Music scene,” where she’s been publicly displaying her wares since 2003.
Her new self-titled album, “ALEXIS GUERRA… (Featuring the smash single “Superman Inside,” for the forthcoming film) does nothing less than allow her Soar to new heights in a “single” bound!
The Message
Embodied with the fire of Gwen Stefani, and fueled by the emotion of Shirley Manson, Alexis’ self titled CD project is nothing short of sheer nuclear combustion harkening back to Janis Joplin!
Her role models, living or in Music heaven, can do little else but smile down on their heir apparent.
