Album Notes

Alex Nebelsky moved to Tempe, Arizona in 1979 and proceeded to start a career in real estate. In 1983 he started his real estate appraisal profession and has been appraising both in the Phoenix area and, now for the past 10 years, in Sedona, AZ ever since. In 2004 as the real estate market began to heat up he reflected on his life and career and wondered what he might have done differently. Movies and especially Sci-Fi adventures were always a favorite and he began to wonder if it wasn’t too late to begin again and possibly get some training in film making. Yes, it was late in life to start something new and something that extreme seemed far removed from reality. Anyway, the appraising business was really hot then and getting into a film school just seemed impractical. But the dream still lived and even though getting into film school and making a movie was not in the cards he hit on the idea of just doing an audio version of a movie or a radio play. That idea was certainly doable and a lot cheaper. So in the fall of 2004 he started to write and ended up with a 145 page audio script six months later. Foreword to 2008, the real estate market is in the tank and the appraisal business has dried up. That summer he learns about a script writing class put on by the local community college. Dan Gordon, an accomplished Hollywood film script writer and cofounder of the Zaki Gordon Film Institute at this college is the lecturer. Inspired by the lecture, a pivotal moment occurred and from that moment on Nebelsky decided it was time to make a CD. After paring down the script to a manageable CD length of 73 pages he asked his family, neighbors and a few of his tennis buddies to act in the production. From there the rest is history. Although Nebelsky has never done anything like this before, it seemed to come together as if he had done all of this before and hopefully will be followed by many more productions.

REVIEWS

The Sedona Devil Chicken
author: Henry Kozak
This is a great CD. It is unique and entertaining - an experience that takes you back to old time radio but with a modern story that is both humorous and exciting. The characters, sound effects and music are also very good. I highly recommend it.
