This is the third vocal cd by Alex Wall. As usual Wall plays all the instruments (guitar, keyboards, bass, drums, samples, special effects, etc...) and sings--with a unique lyrical style (just listen to track: 2, "Overwaiting")--perhaps a reminiscent mixture of John Lennon, Bono and David Gilmour(?). Many of Wall's verses are enigmatic and have multiple meanings...

Every Alex Wall cd is very different and this one has its own feeling. The first three songs (1: "Katydid," 2: "Overwaiting," and 3: "Practice,") are a trio (done in the same key--but in three divergent styles). Have a listen!

Although Wall has done hard rock, folk, funk, jazz, blues, experimental and instrumental music, the haunting song, 4: "The River" is clearly classical--allowing a tiny "taste of heaven" at the end, as the background vocals of Erica Russell ascend into eternity.

By the spring of 2005 all of the other Alex Wall vocal cd's, including: B Sides (2004), Blue Age (2002), Wake To Dream (2000), and Moonflower (1998), should be available at CDbaby! By summer, three ambient instrumental albums should be available as well.
