"His voice is the embodiment of emotion... it's like your best friend is singing to you, but with a depth of love and longing that you never knew he possessed. This is the record you could buy any one of your friends, regardless of their musical tastes, and know that they will be thanking you for a long time." -91X's Hilary

"His version of "Always on My Mind" was the most beautiful I've ever heard (sorry Elvis) and his original songs were great... a combination of Springsteen and Dylan, but a better voice." - San Diego Reader Live Review

"At a time when sensation is celebrated over substance, Alex Woodard is a modern rock poet poised to go cross-genre..." Rockpile

"His truest gift is his storytelling... amongst anthemic hooks are gritty prayers for deliverance and haunting waltz-like tributes. Overall, very strong, unpretentious rock with diverse elements that keep it hopping as it seduces you." Allmusic PICK

"SXSW PICK Woodard is in the mold of Dave Matthews and David Gray, and has already generated radio play nationwide." Austin Chronicle, SXSW PICK

Alex lives in a little beach town north of San Diego, in a little beach house, with a big black dog.

This is the best album I've heard in years. Beautiful, intimate vocals and very singable melodies. I must have listened to "Mile High" eight times in a row...couldn't get it out of my head!

I LOVE THIS CD. Everytime I listen to each song on this CD, I think, DAMN, THIS is GOOD! It's my favorite new CD and I'm glad I picked it up after hearing him play in Austin during SXSW. You'll want to hear each song more than once.
