Album Notes

Alex Yellowlees, Scotland's premier jazz violinist has dazzled and entertained audiences across Europe with his original realisation of the 'hot club' style. Ever the pioneer, Alex has sculpted his own musical voice over a lifetime of performance and recordings. Drawing from his extensive experience of Celtic, Blues and Jazz genres, you now can hear and share in the sonic marvel that is at the very core of The Alex Yellowlees Band.

Mike Nisbet is an award winning graduate from the Leeds College of Music. His virtuoso guitar playing belies his years and he combines a musical maturity with a ferocious technique that is the envy of many a guitarist. A regular sideman for top acts, Mike's work has included playing with the seminal group the 'Scottish Guitar Quartet' as well as extensive radio and live appearances.

Ged Brockie recently figured in a poll listing the world's top acoustic guitarist. He has a vast experience of playing in every conceivable musical ensemble from orchestra to solo and his own solo band album was released to critical acclaim in 2005. As a composer he is much in demand, regularly writing for media, film and soundtracks.

Kenny Ellis has been at the forefront of the Scottish Jazz scene for over three decades. The list of top Americans he has played with reads like a who's who of jazz. Lee Konitz, Bobby Watson, MORE NAMES TO BE ADDED. Kenny is a seminal bass player known and respected throughout the world of jazz on both sides of the Atlantic.

Hi, I just loved this album. I am into the "Le Jazz Hot" sound and Alex and his band do it so wonderfully well. If you love swing jazz I can recommend this artists music without reservation.
