Album Notes

In this, their fifth Heartstrings album, Al Fabrizio and Hugo Wainzinger capture some of the world’s favorite songs representing ten different countries: Austria, Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Russia and Spain.
Some of these songs were actually composed by writers who were not native to the countries represented. Nevertheless, their songs have become familiar to us all, awakening memories of travels, movies and romantic experiences; evoking emotions which people worldwide commonly feel. Hugo’s familiarity with world music is skillfully revealed in his unique arrangements which include nuances from each nation adding his original guitar interpretations and solos...all ingredients for a perfect accompaniment to Al’s expressive mandolin.
