SENSATIONAL CEREBRAL SOUNDSCAPE!
author: Cy Borgski
This idiosyncratic, complicated album was composed solely via an acoustic drum set, making the resultant pieces all the more amazing. The general tone is percussive, understandably, but “A” never descends into tired, formulaic techo-dance beats, preferring to explore more oblique and contemplative natural rhythms. Moods range from tin-can cacophony to lush, otherworldly soundscapes. Some tracks sound like prehistoric tribal chants and marches. Elsewhere, the composer is able to coax some strikingly uncanny sounds from his instrument, and certain sections sound like howling winds on some unnamed alien territory. “k089=fautter” is an affable, virtually pop rendition, and “marblz” leaves us with some nice, old-school robotics. Extraordinary.

Foreboding and frightening ambient textures. Very interesting listen.

Upon first seeing the title of this CD i immediately thought of aphex twin - but this is not some rip off or anything close. this is very original.
the cd is full of very haunting, minimilistic, desolate ambient textures.... i think that this music would be perfect in a good horror film. very eerie and scary sounding.
i have been listening to this when i go to sleep for the past couple of days and it is great. the sounds resemble strange scrapings, distant metallic dreamscapes, and odd ambiances from an abandon asylum. it's hard to describe the music, so JUST LISTEN TO IT!
if you enjoy this style of music then BUY THIS CD! it is very original and disturbingly beautiful. It is definately a welcome addition to my collection.

Ode to the unsung...

It's a tragedy that brilliant independently released cds like this don't get the attention they deserve. Concept albums all to easily become convoluted but thats simply not the case with this album. It's much more interesting than just ambient and its very listenable for being experimental. If you're a fan of the genre, you need to have this cd.
