Four hours of storytelling, reflections, and meditations on Lenten themes by an award-winning author and retreat leader. What are we living for, and what's worth dying for?
The season of Lent is forty days of wandering the often rough roads of the interior journey from ashes to Easter. In this four-CD set, author and religious educator Alice Camille provides a mini-retreat for seekers on the spiritual journey of self-discovery and self-recovery from life's busyness.
Through the use of storytelling, meditations, Scripture, and a fair amount of humor, these reflections explore four main avenues of the season:
* The Desert - We all need to find a center in our lives to be quiet, still, empty, and honest.
* The Journey - Where are we going, and how do we get there? Time to stop living unconsciously and on autopilot.
* Passion - This word means many things, from great love to great suffering. What use are we making of our love and our pain?
* Change - Nobody's favorite word. But life is growth, and growth is change. How do we redirect our lives when it's time to change and let the old person go?

On-message, and great storytelling as well!
author: E.S.M.
The stories on this CD set give a great introduction to the 4 key ideas in this talk: Desert, Journey, Passion and Change. It is the storyteller sensibility that carries the listener on the Lenten Journey. Without the human element of the characters exposed, it would be "too much homily, not enough take-home message". Ms. Camille strikes a good balance, and her comfort with the narrative makes it a good way to gain perspective, hope and joy during this season of Preparation.
