Album Notes

Alicedean was born of the Seattle music scene. Her former band Pretty Mary Sunshine (A&M artist) was featured on the "SFW" movie soundtrack along with Hole, Radiohead, and Marilyn Manson.

Alicedean has beautiful haunting vocals that stream through a 60's style psychedelic style of music. A few surf-punk tracks are included along with a country song about cocaine.

Bride of the Christ (track 2) includes apache violin, handcrafted by Chesley Wilson (a National Treasure), the grandson of Geronimo.

Alicedean was featured in the Rockrgrl Music Conference in Seattle.

Great CD

This is an excellent CD with a really interesting start and finish. From "Zula the Bird" which lasts 8 seconds, the next ten tracks are a folk/psychedelic mix with haunting female vocals that at times are similar to those of the great Hope Sandoval. Anyone who misses Hope will likely enjoy this CD. Then comes track 12 called "Because He Loves Lorraine", which has a definite hint of country. "Lorraine" can be replaced by "cocaine" as is obvious throughout the song. Next is "Safe Haven" which is a return to the folk/psychedelic sound, then the last two tracks which are two upbeat rock songs. I highly recommend this cd to fellow folk and shoegaze fans.
